MASTERCLASSES

Welcome to BPA 2020,

Barcelona Piano Academy (BPA) brings together an exceptional team of international piano teachers who will offer master classes and workshops addressed to young professional pianists, graduate students, undergraduate students and advanced preparatory level students.

The course will finish on July 16th with the closing concert where the students that are selected by the BPA faculty team will participate. During this concert, the winners of the VIII BPA International Piano Award 2020, the winners of the BPA Scholarship and the Spanish Music Special Mention will be announced.

Masterclass by Christopher Elton

The VII BPA International Piano Award winner will give several concerts in Spain during the season 2018 - 2019. The YAMAHA Scholarship is awarded to the best Spanish participant

Barcelona, a unique place to learn and enjoy the Spanish Music

Barcelona has been and remains a fundamental center in the development of Spanish Music for piano. Due to this fact and given some of the teachers' profiles, BPA wants to put a special emphasis on the music of the composers from Spain. As an incentive to the study of this repertoire in all its richness, BPA will give the extraordinary opportunity to its students to access to the National Library of Catalonia where many of the manuscripts of the composer Granados are preserved as well as his own Piano Pleyel. In addition, BPA will give a Special Mention to the student selected by the faculty as the Best Interpreter of Spanish Music.

To reinforce this commitment to Spanish Music, one of our concerts of BPA CONCERT SERIES, will be offered by the great pianist and specialist in Spanish Music Albert Attenelle (BPA Artistic Advisor and Professor). This concert will be devoted exclusively to work of one of our most world renowned Spanish composers.
